Keep your face upturned to God as the flowers do to the sun. Look, and your soul shall live and grow. ~~Hannah Whitall Smith
I love to look at nature…the birds flying in sync as if there’s a song playing in the sky, the delicate butterflies fluttering lightly in the air with no particular destination in mind, the grass that seems to need cutting as soon as it rains, and the flowers and trees that wave in the breeze worshipping their Creator while basking in the sun.
We are God’s masterpieces. We were made in the image of the Creator; wonderfully and fearfully made. Yet we tend to hang our heads low and expect to live and grow in Him; rarely looking up to the One who gives life. When the sun is out, the flower appears to be reaching toward heaven. We should also (in our waking hours) be reaching toward heaven.
How much peace would we have if we kept our faces upturned to God? How much more of Him would be revealed to us if we fixed or gaze upon Him? Would we then know how to live in that abundant life the Bible speaks about?
I believe so…because we cannot be in the presence of the Almighty without changing and growing.
The One who gives us life would love to gaze into our eyes and breathe fresh new life into us on a daily basis.
Let’s Look Up!
