FLOWing……Oh, Joy!

As we grow in our capacities to discover the joys that God has placed in our lives, life becomes a glorious experience of discovering His endless wonders.  ~~Author Unknown

I love this quote. It reminds me that everything is a process and must be allowed time and room to grow and be discovered. As a child that enters the world, we don’t expect that that child will be up and walking within a week of birth. So it is with our walk with God. We shouldn’t be expecting a new convert to understand all the biblical principles and be seasoned in one week. The most important thing about the process is actually going through the process. That sounds so simple, and it actually is.

As a teenager, I use to tease my father about his driving. He drives so slow, because he’s sooooo nosy 🙂 I used to tell him, “We’ll never make it on time to anything. You have to look and everything and everybody.” His response was full of wisdom (even though I would roll my eyes at the time). He would look at me and say, “I’m not rushing through life. If there’s something to see, I’m not going to miss it.”

As I got older, I realized that I didn’t have to wait til the weekend to enjoy God’s wonders or be joyful. I now experience every day with anticipation of what will be revealed.

Don’t rush through life waiting for some magical day in the future that will bring joy. Engage in this day. Dive in completely to what’s going on around you. If it’s not the atmosphere you want it to be, you be the “change agent”.

Oh, Joy!! It’s waiting on you to discover.
