The human spirit needs places where nature has not been arranged by the hand of man. ~~Author: Unknown
It’s a beautiful things to ride through the neighborhoods and see the floral arrangements in the front yards, the neatly trimmed bushes, and manicured lawns. In certain communities, it’s almost an unspoken practice to be uniformed with those next to you.
My grandmother has been the recipient of the best yard award on her block many times since I was a little girl. I watched as she took great care in making sure there were no weeds growing and everything looked picture perfect. She spent a lot of time in that yard.
Then, I can also remember going up north with my grandfather for a couple weeks during the Summer. I learned to fish, catch bugs (especially liked catching the fireflies in a jar), peeing in an outhouse (watching out for snakes), making a fire, making mud pies, and going to get water from this pump out back.
Even though I loved my grandmother’s yard and how organized and “cute” it was, I loved being out in “raw” nature. The bushes weren’t trimmed, the trees weren’t pruned (they invaded each other’s space and tangled in each other’s limbs as if they were dancing). There was something so soothing about the FLOW and organization of a scene no person had bothered to organize; more than grandmother’s beautiful yard could ever display.
There is at least one area in your life that only the Creator has had His hand on. He has kept that beauty to Himself; for His own personal enjoyment. Recognize where that is and cherish it as much as He does.
