I’ve been looking at the life of Joseph and I came across something that I have read many times, but saw differently….
I was looking at the verse 2 of Genesis 37, Joseph was that one that we would call a “tattle-tell”. One of my siblings was like this Joseph. So, I know how you feel about having this person around.
Back to Joseph….he knew that his brothers didn’t have a kind word to say about him. Yet, when he had a dream that depicted what the future would look like, he decided he would tell his brothers what he knew. Well, you know the story…his brothers despised him so that they plotted his demise.
If Joseph hadn’t been the “tattle-tell” and always rubbing his brothers’ noses in to the fact that he was the “chosen one”, he would not have been in the position he was ultimately in to save his family and others in a time of famine. Satan meant it for evil, but God…..
The character that was developed in Joseph was such that when he saw his brothers (who didn’t recognize him) again, he could have subjected them to all kind of harsh treatment and/or punishments because of what they had done to him in the past. However, in God’s Divine timing, Joseph was presented the opportunity to show love and mercy for the very people he could’ve felt justified to seek revenge on.
What a wonderful example of Agape Love and Godly Character.
Be peculiar today. Have a Godly response to something or someone even when no one would blame you for a negative response.
