There are a lot of things in life we do out of necessity…not because we like/love it, but because we have to.
It’s in those times, I’ve learned my greatest lessons. So, I guess we can say…I needed those things for more than one reason. Doing what is necessary shapes us and builds character. But, doing what is necessary with the mindset of looking for the character building moments causes us to grow in wisdom.
The truth is…What we tend to do in life (and it’s in all of our nature) is try to avoid discomfort. We don’t want to go through anything and we definitely don’t want to be uncomfortable.
This week as you do what’s necessary, remember to look for the lesson in your necessity. Whether it’s a job you dislike or you have to deal with people you don’t want to deal with, it’s important to see deeper than what’s on the surface.
Dare to be uncomfortable…
