It is definitely ok to take a step back and detach from things to get your mind right. It’s the strongest decision we can make. We make decisions about a lot of things in our lives, but rarely take the time to realize when we need some “me” time.
We’ll sacrifice sleep, family, money, etc…We think nothing of it actually. We find ourselves in complete burnout before we realize how long and how hard we’ve been grinding.
I use to think I had to stay in the thick of it, grit my teeth and bear it. Now, I understand the importance of taking care of self. Do you? Are there some people, places or things you need to detach from?
With everything that’s happened this year, I’ve had the opportunity to create a new norm of giving myself space to decompress, meditate and reflect. I was already journalling in my gratitude journal. Now, I’m sitting still on purpose (scheduled time) to process each day.
What will you implement to do self-checks and decompress on a regular basis.
