Just My Imagination

Hey FLOW!!

Heard of the saying, “Your mind is playing tricks on you”?

Well, one of the things I tell people…what you focus on expands. The thing about our minds…we can imagine all kinds of things that become real to us even if they’re not.

For example, if you’re a mom you know what it’s like to worry and allow your mind to wander when it comes to the unknown about your children.

I can remember sending my sons for a haircut and them being gone for hours. My oldest son never kept his phone charged and of course this was one of those days he was carrying around a dead phone. The news was on and the breaking news story was about a man who got shot at a gas station near the barber shop my sons were going to. So, because my son’s phone kept going to voicemail, I got alarmed and went looking for them.

When I couldn’t find them, I called up my father, step-father and mother to help in the search. It turns out that their regular barber was not in and they started walking to another barber shop (a mile up the road) and waiting there to get their haircuts. Because the phone was dead and my son didn’t have a charger with him, he just shrugged his shoulders and didn’t think it was a big deal. However, what he didn’t realize is that him and his brother were gone almost six hours and by the time they finally got home, I had been frantic and imagining all kinds of things.

Now, flipping that…what if we put our imaginations to work (on a regular basis) and imagined things that brought us good health, abundance in finances, good grades, etc…?

Right! I think about how much further along I would be if I had implemented this concept in my 20s and 30s.

What can you do to ensure that from this point on you’re focused on things that serve you? 🤔 Leave me a comment.
