Don’t Hide Your Shine

I use to try and fit a mold in an effort to please others. I think most of us can identify with that. When I tell people how much of a people-pleaser I use to be, they tend to not believe me because of how bold I am now.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The thing about that is…I had to learn the hard way that there was no pleasing everybody all of the time. Someone was going to be disappointed or dissatisfied. It’s impossible. So, I began to live by a standard of living each day with the intention of leaving a trail of good with those I encounter. I know there are people who will not be pleased or satisfied with everything I do and say.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Another part of my people-pleasing was me putting me to the side for those who carried insecurities that wouldn’t allow them to receive the real me. it is soooo hard to be someone you’re not…exhausting!!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Don’t hide your shine for anybody. Be your authentic self. If others can’t handle who that is, they’re not your people.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
