Always Meant to Write

Hey Fabulous!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I was always the girl that loved to read. Books have always been my friend.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I remember writing my grandmother a story I made up at 7 years old. While I’m sure she was trying to give me something to do to occupy my time while she got some things done, she knew I’d be excited about the assignment. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I got to work and some time later produced this story I had written just for her. When she read it, she said she was going to keep it forever.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Over the years, I forgot about the story. But, I remembered what I felt like writing it.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Six years ago, my grandmother passed away and I received one of her Bibles. It’s pretty worn and I need to have it restored, but it’s proudly seated on my nightstand. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When I got the Bible, I flipped through the pages and saw there were some notes my grandmother had written…probably a sermon or bible study. At that time, it was too soon for me to look. It took me a few months to pick it back up and really go through it. She used nail files as bookmarks, she had lots of handwritten notes, and a sheet of paper with a child’s handwriting on it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I began to cry when I saw it. I couldn’t believe it. It was the story I had written when I was seven years old. She kept it. It was at that moment, I decided I would one day be a published author. I didn’t know when or how, but I knew I would.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
