Where is Start?

When I think about the years I’ve been an entrepreneur, I always think of how I felt when I reached out to someone before getting started. What I was told was…”the best way to get it done is to start”. Ok…that sounds really deep and profound, but I had to ask the simple question….⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
WHERE IS START?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
To my surprise, the person I was speaking with had no definite answer for me, but had been told the same thing when they were starting their business. So, how can we as mentors/coaches direct others in the right direction (without the confusing directive of “just get started”)? After all, there are so many options out there, and so many things we need to consider before we can even “start”.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So, the number one thing on my list to tell those I coach/mentor is to make sure you know your “WHY”. The reason I say to know your “WHY” is because you’ll need it when things don’t add up or things flop when you had high hopes that it would fly. You’ll need your “WHY” when no one else believes in you but you and you can’t find support. You’ll also need to remember your “WHY” when you want to give up.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Then, the next step is to do your research. Who is out here doing what you’re doing? If there’s someone out here doing what you want to do, take notes as to how they do it. Don’t copy, but definitely don’t reinvent the wheel…it’s already been invented. Using wheels as an example, do you know there is more than one tire company out here in these streets…LOL. So, if you’re getting ready to tell me that your niche is too saturated, and there’s not enough of an audience left…STOP!!! No one can do what you do the way you do it, and there are people waiting to hear it from you (even if it’s been done 1,000 times).⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When you do your research, look at the systems they use, the platforms they use, and the methods they use to get their product/service out to the public. Then, take what you see that’s working and try different combinations.

So, I agree with starting, but we must have a plan/pathway to follow.
