What Do You Want Me to Do?

Hey FLOW!

We can’t go to the drive-thru and order up the life we want, in the order we want, with the parents, family, and home-life we want. The family we’re born into is the family we’re born into. The parents we have are the parents we have. You get the message…it is what it is.

The one thing I communicate with those around me is that we truly must take what we’ve been “given” and make the most of it. If we don’t learn to do so, we’ll end up living a miserable life. I see too many people living the same day repeatedly instead of living each day. The reason they can’t live for today is they’re replaying what happened in their past. They tend to blame everyone for the way their lives are going and never take ownership for the current moment.

I don’t believe that life should happen TO me. I believe I have a say in what goes on in my daily life. I’m the pilot and I steer the way. There are individuals born with certain defects or disabilities. I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t have volunteered to be born this way, but I love hearing the stories of those who take their disabilities and do something extraordinary with their lives. It’s as if they’ve turned to the Creator and asked what we all should be asking, “Lord, what do you want me to do with this?”

So, I’ve decided to ask that question myself with the life I’ve been given….Lord, what do you want me to do with this? What about you?
